20 YEARS AGO ON JULY 8, 2172, THE SPACESHIP X-77 WAS LOST IN THE TAU CETI SYSTEM AND HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD FROM SINCE.

YOU ARE A REPORTER FOR A MAJOR INTERSTELLAR NEWSPAPER. IF YOU SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF THE X-77, IT WILL MAKE THE SCOOP OF THE CENTURY ... BUT AT WHAT COST?

Escape the Spaceship is a browser-based top-down sci-fi/horror/mystery game with graphics and gameplay taking after adventure-type video games of the late '70s and early '80s. Essentially, it's Atari's Adventure meets Baldi's Basics meets Five Nights at Freddy's. It centers around you, a reporter for a major interstellar newspaper, trying to solve the mystery of the lost Spaceship X-77 in the 22nd century. Your goal is to find eight data drives, which contain information about the events surrounding and following the X-77's disappearance.

But beware: four killer robots roam the abandoned corridors, seeking you out to destroy you at any cost. There seems to be something amiss about these robots, some dark secret that they're hiding — but what could it be? Use energy pills, electromagnetic pulse emitters, and sheer skill to find the data drives, unlock the secret of the robots, and ESCAPE THE SPACESHIP!

Space to do most other things (use items, exit data drive screens, etc.)

- This game is made with Unity.

- I, the developer, am a beginner: this is my first published game, and I started developing with Unity in Fall 2022 (as a high school freshman).

- This game is "mystery" in that it involves the player sequentially unlocking the truth behind a mysterious wrecked spaceship and even more mysterious killer robots.
